Variable Bindings
Link variables to data points in connectors for data acquisition.
Bindings are the final link in the data acquisition chain. A binding connects a variable on an asset to a specific data point in a connector — telling the system exactly where to read the value for that variable.
For example, binding the active_power variable to OPC UA node ns=2;s=ActivePower means the edge gateway will read that node and stream the value to the platform as the asset's active power.
Fleetera offers two primary ways to create bindings: manual entry for precise control, and AI-powered match suggestions for binding variables in bulk.
Binding Concepts
Understand what bindings do and how they work.
Manual Binding
Create bindings one at a time with the binding editor.
Match Suggestions
Let AI automatically match variables to data points.
Batch Operations
Create multiple bindings at once using batch accept.
Binding Parameters
Configure scale, offset, deadband, and sampling interval.
