Notification Preferences

Choose your direct alert emails, daily digest and critical alert toasts.

Open Settings → Notifications to choose how alerts reach you in the current organization. Every member can change their own preferences. Select Save preferences to apply a change.

Direct alert email

Choose a level under Direct alert email:

ChoiceDirect emails you receive
All alertsInfo, warning and critical alerts
Warning and criticalWarning and critical alerts
Critical onlyCritical alerts
No direct emailNo direct alert emails, including critical alerts

This preference also applies when an alert is assigned to you. An email is considered only when an assignment changes to a person; unassigning or selecting the existing assignee does not send another assignment email. The channel delivery log records an email excluded by a preference as Skipped, with the reason preference.

Your preference belongs to your membership, not to the email address alone. If you share an inbox with another member, you may still see alert emails that their preferences allow. It does not change webhook or Slack delivery, or scheduled briefings.

Daily digest

Turn on Daily digest, enter a Local hour (0–23) and a Timezone, then select Save preferences. Use an IANA timezone such as Europe/Zurich. Fleetera collects alerts excluded by your direct email preference and groups them by severity and site.

The digest becomes due at the chosen local hour. Enabling it starts a new collection window; it does not include a historical backlog. Turning it off stops digest delivery. Enabling it again starts a new window, and alerts from the earlier window do not return.

Fleetera starts at most one digest attempt per local day, including when you disable and re-enable it that day. Eligible alerts stay available for a later day's attempt while that same window remains enabled. A delivery failure does not consume them. A digest contains a bounded batch; any remaining eligible alerts carry forward. When there are no eligible alerts, Fleetera sends no digest email. Digest delivery requires active membership in the organization.

Fleetera removes items from the pending digest only after the email provider confirms acceptance. Acceptance does not prove that a message arrived in your inbox. If the provider accepted a message but its response was lost, Fleetera keeps the outcome unconfirmed and retains those items. A later attempt may therefore send a duplicate.

Critical alert toasts

Turn on Critical alert toasts to see an in-app notification when a critical alert fires. This setting is separate from your direct email level. The Notify me of critical alerts switch in Alerts updates the same saved preference.

Fleetera imports an older browser toast choice only if no saved preference exists. An existing saved preference takes priority. If that import cannot be saved, the browser choice is retained for a later retry.

Delays and reach previews

If Fleetera cannot check a recipient's membership or preferences, it defers direct email instead of ignoring their preference. This can delay alert and assignment email during an outage.

The routing policy channel picker offers Preview alert severity. For each email channel it shows reachable addresses, users excluded by preferences, and addresses removed by those exclusions. These counts differ when several users share an address. Counts are per channel and should not be added together, because channels can overlap. If the check fails, the preview says that reach is unknown.
