User Management
Invite team members and manage permissions in your organization.
Fleetera supports role-based access control so you can grant your team members the right level of access to the platform.
Inviting team members
Organization owners and administrators can invite new users:
- Navigate to the Settings page
- Go to the Users section
- Enter the email address of the person you want to invite
- Select a role for the new user
- Send the invitation
The invited user will receive an email with a link to join your organization. If they don't already have a Fleetera account, they'll be guided through the signup process first.
Roles and permissions
Access control is managed through roles assigned to users in your organization. Each role grants a specific set of permissions that determine what the user can see and do in the platform.
Permission categories
| Category | Read | Write | Delete |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sites | View sites and site details | Create and edit sites | Delete sites |
| Assets | View assets, hierarchies, categories | Create and edit assets | Delete assets |
| Connectors | View connectors and configurations | Create and edit connectors | Delete connectors |
| Deployments | View edge deployments | Create and manage deployments | Delete deployments |
| Bindings | View variable bindings | Create and edit bindings | — |
| Templates | View templates, libraries | Create and edit templates | — |
| Dashboards | View dashboards | Create and edit dashboards | Delete dashboards |
| Settings | View organization settings | Modify settings, manage users | — |
How permissions work
- Permissions are evaluated at the page level — navigation items are hidden if you lack the required permission
- Permissions are also checked at the action level — API calls validate permissions server-side
- Some pages require multiple permissions (e.g., managing connectors requires both site read and connector write access)
Roles are assigned when inviting users to your organization. Contact your organization administrator to manage user roles, or reach out to the Fleetera team for guidance.
Platform administrators
Platform administrators have cross-tenant access and can:
- View and manage all organizations (tenants)
- Access system-wide settings
- Perform administrative operations across organizations
Platform admin access is restricted to Fleetera staff and designated partners.
